October 15th 2012

Some days the choices are made so easily and I just naturally reach for the correct foods or I don't eat when I am not hungry.
Other days it is a huge battle!
My first line of defense is water. When I can, I drink as much as possible.
I don't drink anything but water or tea. It is wasting calories to drink something else and it does not help my body as much as water does.
Today I did very well in the water department.... fully hydrated!
However, a Graham cracker did make its way into my hands this afternoon.
The Lord is good and gives strength when I am at my most weak.
I love not having to drink coffee but, getting energy from the foods I eat.
Dinner was 1/2 a pork chop, rice and a large serving of kale/broccoli.
I actually like kale now, and am so amazed at all the health benefits of eating it.
Here's to another day of working towards my goal.

October 5th 2012

So it has been another wonderful day.
Daily I am reminded that I am God's workmanship, created in his image and need to be doing his work. I can not be working for the kingdom if I am filling my body with junk.
I have had a successful day in town with not stopping for junk food.
I had a great time walking and have been drinking lots of water!
Thought it was time for another updated photo so here ya go!
After all I am almost to 50 pounds of weight loss!

How my eating has changed-
I count my calories, I do not graze or snack. I only eat when I am hungry.
I do not eat processed food except for on rare occasions.
I don't use salad dressing, process cheese, chips, regular crackers, regular yogurt, drink any sugary drinks or eat sugar.
I do use butter liberally, eat whole fat organic yogurt, use coconut oil, indulge in every organic veggie known to man or woman, enjoy tons of lean meats!
I also make most of my foods from scratch.
I do not drink COFFEE at all.

How my lifestyle has changed-
I exercise 5 times a week. Be it sit ups, tao bo, walking or dancing with my kids. I get time in each day where my heart rate goes up.
I make active choices now. I can clean longer, walk my daughter to school and be on my feet a ton more.
I drink at least 10 glasses of water a day and do not consume anything other than tea for the most part.

How do I feel-
I feel  much much more energetic and can actually run with my children.

How much farther do I have to go?
My goal is to get to 190. I am currently 292.
 If I can go more then, great!

October 4th

It's me here! Remember me:)
Well, I sat and did not lose much weight for the month of September but, I am back with a vengence!
I am 293 today and looking to shed those pounds.
A wonderful motivating phone call from my brother was what it took. It did the job and I am more focused than ever.

My current goal is to lose 10 lbs by the first Monday in November.
I use a application on my computer called My Fitness Pal

It makes things so simple when counting and keeping track of calories.
I enter in my veggies but, I don't count them as calories in my head. Veggies are basically a free food.
Dinner tonight is going to be a savory stir fry.
